'THE SACRED FACE' is a bold film that has bought out this reality of sex abusement. Based on a real life incident which happened in India, the film for the first time looks at this reality from the abuser's perspective.Although the film raises a lot of questions it leaves it to the audience to find their answers. This bold and controversial film breaks all norms of 'culture of silence'. Needless to say this is not just an Indian story but is a global reality.

In a world where compassion is a mirage, Alice Thomas is an exception. Divine Children’s Home that she started is not just an orphanage. Its a home. For children, who are abandoned by fate in their journeys of life.
It takes immense courage to take up the responsibility of a child. Alice Thomas had that. Especially, since she was then a widow with two children of her own and had only thejob of teaching women convicts in prison handicrafts to make ends meet.
Yet, she adopted a child of a convict and brought her home, to bring her up along with her own children. Now, she is mother to 32 children – 18 boys and 14 girls.
Even though, the Divine Children’s Home was started in 2002, the mother and children were shuttling from one rented house to another till they had a roof of their own in 2008. Now, they are facing the world with a new-found confidence and courage. A new journey is beginning to take place. We join Alice Thomas and her children at this point.
Filming the movement was a great challenge. It had Alice Thomas braving challenges posed by fate, and also children who were fortunate to find the mother in Alice Thomas. A story that existed in different times, but with the invisible strand of fate linking it up. It is a story stranger, and more poignant, than fiction.
